Zeitschrift für Lübeckische Geschichte
The Journal for Lübeck History [Zeitschrift für Lübeckische Geschichte (ZLG)] has been published since 1855 as the key body of the Association for the History and Antiquities of Lübeck [Verein für Lübeckische Geschichte und Altertumskunde (VLGA)], originally sporadically and since 1954 annually with an extensive volume.
The numerous articles by scholars from near and far reflect the state of research on the history of the city of Lübeck, which, as Imperial and Free City until 1937 and as the so called "Queen of the Hanseatic League", played an outstanding role in the history of German cities as well as in the German history as a whole.
Regularly, the journal reports with numerous illustrations on the works of the sectors of archaeology and preservation of historical monuments of the Hanseatic City of Lübeck. An extensive review section informs about new publications predominantly on Lübeck history, but also in a broader sense on North German and Hanseatic history.
