The first sixty volumes of the Mitteilungen [Communications] of the Verein für die Geschichte Berlins [Society for the History of Berlin], founded in 1865, have been published between 1884 and 1943 with the printer and "Royal Court Book Shop" of Ernst Siegfried Mittler & Sohn. After its publication has been taken up again in 1965, this time self-published by the Society, in 2004 the hundredth year in print could be celebrated.
The Mitteilungen des Vereins für die Geschichte Berlins [Commmunications of the Society for the History of Berlin] are issued four times a year; besides the reports about the Society’s activities and an extensive calendar of events they contain essays on the history of Berlin and numerous reviews as well as appreciations of single members.
The volumes from 1884 to 1943 can be found as digital copies on the website of the Zentral- und Landesbibliothek Berlin [Central and State Library Berlin]. Tables of content and indices of the volumes from 1998 onward are stored on the website of the Society. Paper copies of the Mitteilungen (back to 1965) can be asked for in the Library of the Society on a little donation. Members of the Society receive free copies of the recent Mitteilungen.
