The "Jülich Historical Review" deals with the history of the city of Jülich, the former district of Jülich and the former duchy Jülich-Cleves-Berg.
The journal Jülicher Geschichtsblätter [Jülich Historical Review] contains articles, documentations and book reviews. Methodologically, the journal's scope ranges from archaeology to architectural history, the history of art as well as local, urban and regional history.
The first volume of the journal was published in 1958 as Jülicher Heimatblätter [Jülich Heimatblatt], renamed in 1968 to Beiträge zur Jülicher Geschichte [Contributions to the History of Jülich]. Since 1991, the journal's title has been Jülicher Geschichtsblätter.
