The Hansische Geschichtsblätter [Hanseatic History Review], founded in 1871, is the scholarly journal of the Hanseatic History Society. The journal publishes scholarly articles and reviews on the history of the Hanseatic League, on the history of shipping and the economic history of Northern, Western and Eastern Europe. Since 2013 the manuscripts are scrutinized in a peer review process before publication.

Two years after their publication in print the articles are completely published online on the Society’s website.

Under the title Hansische Umschau [Hanseatic Panorama] the review section of the Hanseatic History Review informs about new publications on the in terms of time and space wide range of Hanseatic history.
